  • This dazzling blend of vibrant blue and rich green is a must-have stone for any mineral collection!  Azurite-Malachite is a blend of two distinct and popular copper-based gems.  The deep, almost lapis-like blues of Azurite with the kaleidoscopic shades of green-banded malachite.  Azurite is known as the “stone of Heavens” and Malachite is known as the “stone of transformation”.   In addition to its “sparkling” vivid crystal texture, Azurite and Malachite combined packs a powerful healing punch!  It’s TKO (Total-Knock-Out) with these 2 mineral combos! Malachite is one of the most important healing stones and it is believed to help restore faith and loyalty to any relationship.  Azurite is said to reduce worries, phobias and negative thoughts. Special Care: Direct sunlight, heat, and open air can reduce the intensity of its color over time. To help preserve the saturated blue color of an Azurite-Malachite specimen, be sure to keep it in a cool and shaded environment and away from direct sunlight.

  • So many details and textures to take in on this gemmy purple fluorite.  This specimen is a rare find from the Berbes Mine in Spain which stopped production many years ago.  The distinctive well-formed fluorite crystals are mixed with delicate golden barite “blades”.  We love its complex composition with shades of violet to periwinkle clusters.  The fluorite crystals have defined internal geometric phantoms, displaying outlines of numerous smaller crystals.  Fluorite is also known as "the most colorful mineral in the world" due to the wide range of color variations. Berbes is a mining area in the province of Ribadesella, Asturias, which is in the northern coast of Spain.  The Berbes Mine is famous for its violet and blue-purple fluorite cubic crystals, and associations with other minerals such as quartz and barite.  Specimens from this area of Spain are coveted by collectors and mineral enthusiasts. Since the 1930s the area has been mined by competing entrepreneurs and companies.  Due to the physical condition of the mine and lack of financing over the decades, there are fewer and fewer quality specimens.  Due to its scarcity along with its distinctive composition and color, Purple Fluorite from the Berbes Mine is coveted by collectors and mineral enthusiasts alike. Specimen Locality: Berbes, Berbes Mine, Ribadesella, Asturias, Spain.

  • Maybe it’s just us but gazing into this cool ocean blue Larimar sphere is quite tranquil! This tropical semi-stone is a rare blue variety of the mineral, pectolite. Larimar can only be found in a remote mountain range of a coastal region in the Dominican Republic. Its color varies from white, light blue, greenish-blue, to turquoise blue. Although pectolite is fairly common and naturally occurring, Larimar is scarce because there is NO other pectolite deposit in the world that can produce such a spectacular sea-blue hue. As a result, demand for Larimar has risen in recent years with mineral enthusiasts and jewelers alike. Miguel Mendez, one of the explorers who discovered Larimar in the 1970’s, named the stone by combining his daughter’s name, Larissa, with the word Mar, the Spanish word for sea, to suggest the calming color of the Caribbean Sea. A special name for a special stone! Like most minerals, there are a few aliases for “cool” minerals such as Larimar. Do you know that Larimar is also known as Dolphin Stone, Blue Pectolite, Atlantis Stone, and Stefilia's Stone? Forged from temperamental volcanoes over millions of years ago, Larimar is believed to have calming effects for those who are experiencing internal turmoil. Those who suffer from anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems often turn to this semi-precious stone to ease their minds. Specimen Locality: Mina de Larimar.  Barahona, Dominican Republic *Larimar is photosensitive and the distinct ocean blue color can fade if exposed to excess sunlight and heat. Be sure to display it in a shaded area in your space.*

  • Cave Calcite is also known as ‘floss ferri’ (flowers of iron) or frostwork (think of the attractive pattern that frost can make on a window or other surfaces).  The crystals that form in the precipitation of ground water and the cave surfaces are often delicately beautiful yet striking.  They can form tree, coral, or worm-like patterns that are most unique.  Our Cave Calcite will make an outstanding display piece for your home or office! Similar to how they are formed in nature (rising from the floor of a cave), Cave Calcite is said to be an active crystal that speeds up development and growth physically, mentally and spiritually.

  • Our Midnight Tourmaline is from the Sahatany Valley in the Antanarivo Province of Madagascar. This striking specimen has glistening lustre and is a rare double-terminated crystal (crystal with natural faces on both ends). Tourmaline in this saturated midnight color is also known as Schorl *pronounced shore-o* (NOT to be confused with your Aunt Cheryl). Midnight Tourmaline is the iron-rich variety of tourmaline which is classified as a semi-precious stone. Tourmaline is particularly unique in that it is both pyroelectric and piezoelectric charged. This means that it has the power to generate electrical fields of energy. Now that’s one powerful stone! Black Tourmaline is believed to be a cleansing and protective stone. Place it near the entrance of your home as a way to absorb negative energy and feelings. • Oh you better knock, knock on wood! LuxeRox is lucky to announce the offerings of a rare Petrified Wood specimen from the city of Ambilobe in Madagascar. These fossils are from the Araucaria tree, a type of extinct conifer. Psss...LuxeRox joke! How does a coniferous tree get ready for a date? They SPRUCE themselves up! Ok, that was acorn-y joke but we had to do it! On a more serious note, Petrified Wood from this region of Madagascar dates back to 220 million years ago. This was the beginning of the Triassic period when the supercontinent of Pangea started to break apart into modern day continents along with the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Over the eons, the organic matter in these coniferous trees gets replaced by minerals (carbon, copper, iron, manganese) while most of the original structure like the tree rings stay intact. It’s no surprise that Petrified Wood is known as a calming and grounding stone that fills you with the feeling of security. Since it was once a living, breathing tree that has fossilized over millions of years ago, it’s believed to promote patience and increase perseverance. Gift this fossil for someone who is launching a new goal or taking a new path. Petrified wood is also an excellent stone for meditating. Specimen Locality: Ambilobe, Madagascar

  • Upon first glance, you might ask “is this real”? Well despite pyrite’s alias, Fool’s Gold, there is nothing foolish or fake about our Pyrite in matrix! This distinctive specimen is from Navajun, located 3 hours northeast of Madrid in the La Rioja region of Spain and it’s approximately 130 million years old. It is completely natural and has not been cut or polished. Pyrites from this small village is famous for its perfectly lustrous cubic mineral structure. Pyrite is an iron sulfide that has crystalized in a cubic system. Although it is common for many minerals throughout the world to crystallize in a cubic system (for example, salt), it is rare to find near-perfect cubes in the size and radiance that are characteristic of Pyrites from Navajun. Carry pyrite with you if you’re feeling shy for your next presentation as this metallic mineral is known to help fullfil leadership roles. It aids with confidence, determination and self-expression. Pyrite is also believed to reduce anxiety especially during a time of grieving. Specimen Locality: Navajun, La Rioja, Spain  Pyrite is a powerful protection stone which shields and protects against all forms of negative vibrations and/or energy, working on the physical, etheric, and emotional levels. It stimulates the intellect and enhances memory, helping to recall relevant information when needed. Pyrite is known as the Stone of Protection and Positive Energy. Our Pyrite Sun radiates like glorious beams of light. It is our oldest mineral at approximately 300 million years old (Pennsylvanian-age rocks) and is found 200 to 250 feet below ground in coal mine seams. What makes this pyrite so exceptional is its disk-like shape, as it's usually more common for Pyrite to form in intergrown cubic-shaped masses. This spectacular metallic saucer contains marcasite and can range from the size of a penny up to the size of a dinner plate. Pyrite Sun, AKA Pyrite Dollar is unique to only one place on earth in the area near Sparta, Illinois. Pyrite is known as the Stone of Protection and Positive Energy. • Septarian is truly a superb work of art crafted by mother nature over the eons. This LuxeRox “Rare Find” is from Morocco and it was formed during the Cretaceous period, approximately 50 to 70 million years ago. The natural pattern and coloration of septarian gives the surface of this partially polished mineral a "dragon skin" look. This is why Septarian is also known as “Dragon Egg”. Pretty badass, right?  Each offering is hand-polished on one side to bring out the septarian's unique pattern and coloration. Who knew shells, sea life carcasses, and 70 million years can transform a mud ball into something so magnificent? Kudos to you, Septarian!  You have made it into the Mineral-Hall-of-Fame! • Also known as Tangerine Quartz, the orange color on these natural Hematite on Quartz Clusters comes from the presence of Hematite and water in the cavity where they were formed.  Slowly, over time, the water combined with Hematite to create rust that permanently bonded to the surface of the crystals. The combination creates an aesthetically pleasing natural quartz crystal which can range from vivid to deep red and orange in color. Hematite on Quartz is associated with the Root Chakra. It’s a grounding stone and encourages forward thinking to maneuver through difficult situations.

  • Our Velveteen Malachite has a striking emerald green color with beautiful CHATOYANCY. What is chatoyancy you ask (sha-toy-en-see)? Chatoyancy is a phenomenon in gemology, also known as cat’s eye effect, an optical reflectance effect seen in certain gemstones and minerals. Light reflecting off of the intricate clusters of radiating malachite crystals creates a holographic effect. This visual phenomenon can be compared to the brilliant sheen reflecting off the fibers of velvet. Hence why we call our Fibrous Malachite, “Velveteen Malachite”...it is so lustrous and silky smooth! This rich and lustrous specimen is sourced directly from the Rusahi Mine from the Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Fibrous Malachite has been declining in supplies after a reassurance of materials in 2010. This mineral will surely become a collector’s item and add a special pop of color to your living space! Malachite is known as the stone of transformation. It encourages unconditional love, change, and risk-taking. Gift this to a loved one who might be going through a difficult time.
