One of the most prized varieties of Garnet, Spessartine is known as the “Garnet of the Sun” and it’s simple to see why with its vibrant fiery hue and distinctive 12-sided crystal structure.
This museum-caliber specimen was mined in Fuijan Province, a southeastern part of China known for its pristine mountains and beautiful coastal views. Scattered with well-formed dodecahedron red-orange garnet crystals, it is unioned with smoky quartz on a matrix of feldspar. The combination of its texture, contrast, and colors make this piece superb and dramatic.
Spessartine is linked to will and desire and it is believed to enhance sexual attraction. It aids creativity and is associated with the sacral chakra for being beneficial to infertility.
